MUSCOGEE (CREEK) NATION
TAX COMMISSION/MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION

In order to be eligible for a Muscogee Nation tag, you must be an enrolled citizen, reside within the Nation's jurisdictional boundaries, have the original title, a valid Oklahoma driver's license or I.D. and must provide current insurance verification. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation boundaries consist of the following counties:

Vehicles are registered as follow:

New and Used: Registration Tax is calculated at 1.5% of the actual purchase price (A.P.P.) of the vehicle as long as the A.P.P. falls within 20% of the average retail price of the vehicle. The Registration Fee is also applied along with a $5.00 Administration Fee.

Already Owned: The fee is calculated according to the number of years the vehicle has been registered:

1 to 5 years: $75.00
6 to 10 years: 55.00
11 to 15 years: 30.00
16 years and older: 15.00
The $5.00 Administrative fee may or may not apply depending on whether or not the vehicle has been previously registered with the Muscogee Nation.

We also have special rates for Veterans. If you have your Form DD-214, you may be eligible for a special rate of $15.00 (no registration tax applies). If you have proof that you are a Disabled Veteran, you may be eligible for a special rate of $11.50 and winners of selected Medals of Honor are eligible for a special rate of $5.00. Prisoners of War receive a free tag.

We also tag commercial, farm, and recreational vehicles as well as motorcycles.
