HIGHER EDUCATION CREEK NATION TRIBAL FUNDS GRANT
Dear Student:
The Creek Nation Higher Education Program is pleased to receive your inquiry regarding a Creek Nation Tribal Funds Grant.
The following policy and procedure requirements were passed by the Creek Nation Council:
1. The applicant (student) must be an enrolled Citizen of Muscogee (Creek) Nation and possesses a Citizenship Card.
2. The student must be accepted by an approved college or university.
3. The student must provide a recent photograph.
4. The student must complete an original application and write a letter as to the educational plan for which the award will be used.
5. The status of the student, as to being full-time or part-time, will be decided by the
college’s/school official policy.
6. Full-time students will be awarded $1,000 per semester/quarter. Part-Time student awards will be $500. Total amount of awards may not exceed $2000 per academic year for full-time students and $1,000 per academic year for part-time students. Summer funding: full-time students $350 and part-time $175.
7. After verification of the students enrollment status, awards will be mailed to student’s home address.
8. The student must furnish grades at the end of each term.
9. The student must maintain a 2.5 G.P.A. to remain eligible for the program. (Students with a term G.P.A. below 2.5 and at least 1.5 G.P.A. will be placed on academic probation. Those below 1.5 G.P.A. for the term and those withdrawing without a valid medical reason shall be suspended at the end of the term).
10. The awards may be used to supplement those that are receiving aid from another source.
11. Funding will be limited to ten (10) semesters.
12. Deadline for Application December 14.
