HIGHER EDUCATION CREEK NATION SELF-GOVERNANCE Dear Student: The Creek Nation Higher Education Program is pleased to receive your inquiry regarding assistance for higher education. Below is an application for your use. Please complete and return the application including the privacy statement to our office with all the supporting documents prior to the deadline listed below. Your request will be considered as soon as possible. If you are eligible for a Grant, notification to you will be made in the form of an award letter. In the case you are ineligible for assistance you will be notified by letter stating reason of ineligibility. Applicants must: 1) Print out and complete original application, attach all the requirements and send at one time. 2) Apply for Federal Financial Aid at a accredited college or university (the award will be determined by financial need) 3) Students who receive a grant are expected to earn 15 hours per semester and with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 4) Students are responsible for submitting the grades immediatelyat the end of each term 5) The maximum amount of funding per semester a student MAY receive will be $1000 for a single student, $1500 for independent student and $2000 for married or head of household student. Maximum amount for summer funding MAY receive will be $500 a single student, $750 for independent student and $1000 for married or head of household student. 6) This grant will be for only undergraduate students earning Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree with a maximum of 10 semesters or quarters not to exceed 150 hours, whichever comes first 7) Previous grant recipients need only to file a “Renewal Form” after meeting the requirements to continue for the next academic year. 8) NO AWARDS will be processed until the grades have been checked for compliance Please be aware that it does take some time to process an application. Notification to the student is made as soon as possible after the college/university has notified our office that the student is eligible for assistance. Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted and will be returned. No exceptions! Thank you for your interest in Higher Education.
