HIGHER EDUCATION POST GRADUATION PROGRAM The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Higher Education Program announces the recent NCA 01-113 legislation passed by the National Council for establishment of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma Post Graduate Program and the availability of funds for graduate assistance for members of the Creek Tribe to further their education beyond a bachelor’s degree for a first time graduate degree. PURPOSE: TR 04-023 Post Graduate Program is established to provide financial aid opportunities for members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation to further their education beyond a Bachelor’s degree for a Master’s, Doctoral or Professional Degree/Certification. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The following requirements are used to determine eligibility:
1. Complete Application (attached) with signature
2. Be an enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
3. Have earned a Bachelor’s degree.
4. Must be pursuing a Master’s or Doctorate degree as full-time or part-time graduate student at a nationally accredited college/university in the U.S.
5. If not already attending graduate school, must apply to the graduate program.
6. Must submit the following and attach with the original application:
Copy of Creek tribal enrollment card; photo, education degree plan (course requirements); copy of transcript with bachelor’s degree earned; letter of acceptance to the graduate program and a class schedule.
7. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or meet required grading system by the university standards.
8. Must provide grade report or transcript at the end of each term.
9. Must provide a class schedule for each term. GRANT INFORMATION:
Applications will be considered upon availability of funds. Awards will be mailed in care of college, with student’s name to the business or financial aid office. Amount of award is $2000 per semester for full-time; $1000 for part-time. Awards will be processed twice per academic year. Awards are limited to 2 years (4 semesters/quarters) for a Master’s degree; Limited to 3 years (6 semesters/quarters) for doctoral candidates. Applicants must complete application and submit all requested documents by the closing date.
