DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT: The purpose of this position is to provide risk management/safety services and support to the Health System. The Health System provides comprehensive health care services to Native Americans living within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation through the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Community Hospital (CNCH) and five (5) ambulatory health centers in Eufaula, Okemah, Okmulgee, Sapulpa and Coweta. The Health System also maintains eight (8) Field Health operations consisting of the Behavioral Health Services (BHS); Vocational Rehabilitation Services; Contract Health Services (CHS); Community Health Representative (CHR); the Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP); the Women’s, Infants and Children (WIC) Programs; the Tobacco Prevention (TPP); and the Diabetes Prevention Programs. This position will be located in Okmulgee.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must meet the following requirements: A Bachelors Degree in management, health or a safety/risk management field is preferred. Two years (2) of relevant experience in the field of safety or risk management, preferably in health care. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
EVALUATION METHODS: Applicants who meet the requirements described above will be evaluated to determine the extent to which they possess or have the potential to acquire knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics, (KSAP's) required of this position. Applicants should address the following KSAP's on a separate attachment to their application.
1. Knowledge of tribal government systems, public health systems designed for risk management functions, and organizational management systems at a corporate level of an organization.
2. Knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines based upon Muscogee (creek) Nation Tribal Law, federal law, state law and accreditation organizations having oversight of the MCN Health System.
3. Ability to plan and develop goals for a comprehensive Risk Management and Safety Program for the Muscogee Nation Health System in cooperation with Program Managers and Health System Administrators.
4. Ability to recognize and react to emergency situations.
5. Skill in developing outcome measures to monitor and analyze goal progression is preferred.
6. Ability to communicate effectively to all relevant departments, agencies, and individuals in order to properly conduct day to day business.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
8. Ability to maintain a confident professional demeanor.
