Position:  Maintenance Technician - Eufaula

Starting Salary:  Negotiable


DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT:  The purpose of the position is to provide support to the facilities Maintenance Department of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Health System (MNHS) by performing general maintenance services to the facilities throughout the Health System. Incumbent is supervised and performs duties as delegated by the Facilities Manager. Position is located at the Creek Nation Community Hospital in Okemah, OK. The Health System provides comprehensive health care services to Native Americans living within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation through the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Community Hospital (CNCH) and five (5) ambulatory health centers in Coweta, Eufaula, Okemah, Okmulgee, Sapulpa.  The Health System also maintains six (6) Field Health operations consisting of the Community Health Representative (CHR), the Elderly Nutrition (ENP), and the Women’s, Infants and Children (WIC) Programs, the Tobacco Prevention, the Reintegration Program, and the Diabetes Prevention Programs.  


REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must meet the following requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Completion of a program/training in carpentry, building/property maintenance or related field is preferred. One (1) year relevant experience in facility maintenance is required. Relevant professional licenses or certifications related to position are not required but will benefit incumbent. Must possess valid State of Oklahoma Drivers License and be insurable.


EVALUATION METHODS: Applicants who meet the requirements described above will be evaluated to determine the extent to which they possess or have the potential to acquire knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics, (KSAP's) required of this position. Applicants should address the following KSAP's on a separate attachment to their application.

1.       Knowledge of the repair methods of basic facility equipment and an understanding of repair technology.

2.       Knowledge of trade practices in two or more trades related to grounds and building maintenance.

3.       Skills in working with maintenance and related equipment which is generally used in a Health care environment.

4.       Ability to maintain and repair structures, grounds and buildings related to grounds and building maintenance at the facility.

5.       Ability to use instructions, specifications and blueprints to complete assignments for maintenance assignments at the facility.

6.       Ability to use pertinent tools, equipment and measuring instruments to perform repair and maintenance related activities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. for maintenance assignments at the facility.

7.       Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with Health System staff, tribal and non-tribal contractors, governmental agencies, vendors as well as the public, both orally and in writing.
