Tobacco Prevention Program

The Tobacco Prevention and Control Program is dedicated to educating Native Americans/Alaska Natives on the harmful effects of tobacco use in hopes of reducing disease, disability and mortality related to tobacco use while encouraging its original sacred ceremonial and traditional uses.  Our vision is to eliminate commercial tobacco abuse for all Oklahoma Native Americans /Alaska Natives and to educated the younger generation on traditional tobacco use.

The Tobacco Prevention and Control Program provides training to health care providers on documentation procedures, assists communities to establish tobacco policies, develops tobacco prevention education classes for all tribes in Oklahoma and increases access to cessation classes for those who want to quit smoking.
