For most people, this does not require big changes.  Aim for the following:

·        Take a brisk walk for 30 minutes 5 days a week

You can start to make changes on your own.  If you would like help in making changes, the following options are available:

1. Ask clinic staff for handouts on diabetes prevention.

2. Attend a one-hour class to learn changes you can make to help prevent diabetes.

3. Attend a 16-class program for long-term support in making lifestyle changes.  Through this program, you will learn how to eat better and gradually increase your physical activity.
