Native American Caregiver Support Program

(NACSP)

History

The Title VI, Part C Native American Caregiver Support Program began with the amendment of the Older Americans Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-501).  The purpose of this program is to help those individuals who are providing daily activity care for elders who, for reasons of illness or disability, cannot manage alone without assistance.

The Muscogee Creek Nation, Division of Health Administration received this grant under the direction of the Administration an Aging and opened the Caregiver Program office doors for service on December 5, 2002.

Since then many positive improvements have taken place to provide support to those important individuals, who give many hours of their time to provide assistance to their elder.

We appreciate all of you, as family caregivers, and encourage you to take care of yourself, as you care for others!
