Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO)

TERO was enacted pursuant to the Tribe’s inherent sovereign authority to self-governance with jurisdictional capacity to create and uphold unique employment and procurement laws within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation jurisdiction.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation in its intent to address the rate of unemployment and underemployment will require a fair and equitable employment of the citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation as well as other Native American citizens from Federal Recognized Tribes.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation will use the TERO office to ensure that the Muscogee (Creek) Nation receives the rightful share of employment and other economic opportunities.

Muscogee (Creek) Nation shares this type of advocacy regarding employment, procurement and contracting opportunities with approximately 300 Tribes and Alaskan Native Villages.  In Oklahoma, this unique law is shared with 12 other Native Nations.
